What kinds of magnetic components does Pyramid offer?
The line spans the full loop needed to work with a magnetic field: compact scanning and trim magnets for pencil beam therapy, high-order multipole magnets for advanced beam shaping, and precision Hall probes and gauss meters to measure and close the loop on field strength.
What is a "closed-loop magnetic system," and why does it matter?
It's a system where a magnet's field is continuously measured (typically with a Hall probe or gauss meter) and that measurement is fed back to adjust the magnet's drive current, keeping the field accurate over time instead of relying on an open-loop, uncorrected setting.
What's the difference between a Hall probe and a gauss meter?
A Hall probe is the sensor that responds to magnetic field strength; a gauss meter is the instrument that reads and displays that signal in calibrated units. Pyramid's probes and meters are designed to work together as a matched pair.
Are these magnetics products built specifically for proton therapy, or do they suit other applications too?
Pencil beam scanning magnets are purpose-built for proton therapy, but the multipole magnets and field measurement instruments are also used in synchrotron and general beamline applications wherever precise magnetic field control is needed.
