The CAB-BNC is a low-noise 50-ohm BNC to BNC cable built around the Times Microwave LMR-240-UF, which Pyramid selected as its standard cable for connecting ionization chambers, Faraday cups, and other precision detectors to our electrometers. Dual shielding, an aluminum foil tape under a tinned copper braid, keeps shielding effectiveness above 90dB, and a foam PE dielectric keeps capacitance to the shield low so weak signals aren't distorted in transmission.
A TPR (thermoplastic rubber) jacket makes the cable UV and weather resistant while keeping it flexible enough for tight routing, including gantry-mounted installations that see repeated flexing. Its minimum bend radius is about 19mm (0.75"), among the tightest available for a cable of this size, and it resists the triboelectric noise that stiffer cables can generate when flexed or vibrated.
